Ranking Every Nominated Film of the 98th Academy Awards

I’ve ranked every nominee in every category of the 98th Academy Awards. I was simply viewing how strong each nomination was, and not basing my choices on the quality of the films being nominated. That changes now. This is simply a list of every film — feature, documentary, and short — that was nominated in 2026, ranked from worst to best. Each film will have a link to a review that I or a Films Fatale team member wrote (my ranking may not reflect the thoughts of a cohort).

There will be more Oscars-related content surrounding the 98th Academy Awards, including my final predictions of every category, coverage of the ceremony and of all the winners, and my annual tradition of doing a Best Picture review of whatever film wins the top prize.
