Every 94th Academy Award Film Ranked

Written by Andreas Babiolakis

We have reached the end of our ranking of every Academy Award nominee. Now, we shall do what we have done the last few years: rank every film featured at this year’s Oscars in a master list. No beating around any bushes. No further explanations. Just the films. If you want to learn more, you can click on each entry and read a review of the film in full. You may find reviews by some of the other writers here at Films Fatale, but these rankings reflect how I feel about these works.

The official nominations don’t matter here. I am placing the films exactly where I feel like they belong just as films and films alone. No more am I focusing on the strengths and weaknesses of specific elements. Should a mediocre film boast a great performance that I have ranked highly in another list, that film will still be placed lowly. One other point worth mentioning is that some of these films may be in slightly different spots than what you may have imagined if you are a frequent reader of Films Fatale. That’s because I have felt slightly differently about a few films over time, perhaps stronger with some cases and a little more simmered down with some others. This ranking reflects how I presently feel about these films.

Without further ado, for one last time, here are your nominees.
